Getting ready for the General Election
A general election will be held sometime before 3 June 2010, with predictions for 6 May, the same date as many local elections in England. Faith in Politics has produced some resources to help churches and Christians in general to prepare for the election. These materials do not support a 'Church' view or party line, but aim to help Christians engage with a range of important issues facing our country, however they may decide to vote. "Preparing Churches for the General Election 2010" covers a range of the most important policy issues, such as children and young people, criminal justice, the economy, education, environment, health, migration, poverty, and others. For each topic there are sections on subject background, the main issues, suggested questions to candidates and contact details for more information.

Blue Plaque unveilled
Sam King, MBE, a long time worshipper at Albany Park Baptist Church was honoured on 31st January with the unveilling of a blue plaque outside his former home in Herne Hill. Sam worshipped at APBC for over 20 years and devoted himself to maintaining the grounds. The plaque was unveilled by the Deputy High Commissioner of Jamaica, in front of a crowd of family, friends, the Major of Southwark, local councillors and representatives of the South London Press, who had promoted the scheme of honouring living people who had made history. Sam's son, Rev Michael King, testified to Sam's life and sacrifice, guided by God. The inscription reads:
