Children of all ages come after school on Thursday for Prayer Power. On arrival they normally enjoy a drink (hot chocolate seems a favourite) and biscuits and then let off steam in the grounds with a game of football if it's fine or, for those of a more artistic persuasion, a time of drawing or playing music. They then settle down to reflect on their day or the challenges ahead of them and write down their prayers before sharing them. The children take turns to lead the prayer time, so they gain responsibility and confidence. They learn how to pray with the TSP approach - they think about things to thank God for and things they have done that they are sorry about before asking God to answer specific prayers. Often the Thank You prayers are for an answer to the Please prayers of the previous week. By keeping a folder of the prayers the children can see just how good God is.

When out Prayer Power kids recently got soaked while playing footbal they had to resort to wearing the dry shorts (or frocks!) if the oder kids. They didn't seem to mind though.
